1. Shiplap Cladding
2. Plain Board Cladding

Timber cladding is both protective and decorative. It is an attractive and versatile product which can be used on different styles of building and in different ways. Generally our cladding is supplied treated and the timber will naturally weather to a silver grey or it can be stained for a wider range of colours.

Timber cladding is environmentally friendly. It can reduce building costs due to the insulation properties of timber (both heat and sound) and its low thermal conductivity.

The cladding produced by Dundonnell Timber is locally sourced and comes from sustainably managed forests.

The ship lap style is pupose designed exterior cladding

The Plain Boards can be used as cladding either board on board or 'Yorkshire' style with cover strips.

Scottish Sitka spruce is our favoured timber and it grows well in our forest. Sitka Spruce is more stable and takes pressure treatment better than Larch. If the timber is untreated Larch will be more durable.

Dimensions :

Standard length boards. 3.6 m or 4.8m

Shiplap Cladding

Our purpose designed Shiplap exterior cladding forms a totally weathertight rainscreen for both timber and non-timber buildings - provided that it is detailed in accordance with good practice. The ship lap style cladding allows for some board movement overtime which will occur as wood responds to different conditions.

Dundonnell Timber Shiplap cladding can be used both vertically and horizontally

The timber cladding is supplied 'off the saw' although the exposed face can be machine dressed for a smoother finish.

Plain Board Cladding

Plain board cladding uses 150mm (6inch) boards placed horizontally to form a protective and decorative exterior layer on a building. For Board on board cladding all the timber is the same width while the Yorkshire style cladding has thinner cover strips over the gaps between the base boards.
